Our Product Development Process
SNC transfers your product to manufacturing, in which the production line is designed and all production and quality specifications are defined. See Contract Manufacturing for more details.
Product Transfer
If contracted, SNC performs relevant tests on the product to validate that it meets its intended use, and to identify any design flaws or necessary improvements
Product Testing and Validation
SNC creates initial product concepts for your review and testing
Concept Development
SNC provides a project proposal, which includes the project life cycle, development fee and project plan. An estimated product cost range is also provided, which is narrowed as the project matures
Cost Estimation & Proposal
SNC works closely with you to gain a comprehensive understanding of your goals, requirements, and vision for the product to align expectations, and defines your product specifications and quality standards
Discovery and Understanding
Your product development team provides guidance and oversight to ensure the product is manufactured according to your specifications and quality requirements
Production Oversight

Wound Care
Developed and manufactured by SNC for Southern Medical / Melcura (South Africa).
Nanotrix is a primary wound dressing consisting of a blend of two fiber types (spun from different SNC BEST™ sources onto the same collector).
Product Status
Nanotrix® has been commercially available in South Africa since mid-2016.
It has received strong support from key opinion leaders in burn wound treatment and is used at various hospitals in South Africa, including the Red Cross Children’s Hospital (Burns Unit) in Cape Town.
