Pullulan Product Description

Pullulan is a non-toxic, biodegradable microbial polysaccharide polymer consisting of maltotriose units.
Pullulan has a unique linkage pattern of glycosidic bonds, which imparts structural flexibility and enhanced solubility and also provides distinctive physical, adhesive and barrier properties. Cells use pullulan to resist dehydration and predation, and its presence also facilitates diffusion of molecules into and out of the cell and formation of biofilms.
Pullulan has applications in many fields and has been used in contact lenses, as gelling and oxidation-prevention agents, and also acts as a good adhesive and binding agent.
SNC has electrospun pullulan nanofibers for use in medical devices, drug delivery applications and as nanofiber scaffolds.
