PAN Product Description

Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is a synthetic, semicrystalline organic thermoplastic polymer that is resistant to most solvents and chemicals, has high strength and thermal stability, is slow to burn and has a low gas permeability.
PAN is a common and versatile material, and is also used as a precursor material in producing carbon and graphite fiber used in industrial filters and battery separators. PAN nanofibers are soft and flexible and produce lightweight, lofty yarns.
SNC has successfully used PAN nanofiber in the production of ultra-filtration membranes, nanofibers for textiles, nanofibrous yarns and carbon nanofibers through carbonization.
